I have a 2020 Sequoia Platinum 4wd and I get around 16-18 hwy and 13-14 city so I avg around 14-17mpg pending my trips. I drive a lot of hwy for work. I was kind of looking at the 3rd gen Sequoia as it claims 19/22 mph but I’m reading folks are struggling to get a combined 15 mpg.

Anyone on here have any real world experience on the 3rd gen mpg’s? And if it’s really that far off from what Toyota claims, how are they allowed to get away with it?

Just a wild opinion here - Keep the V8, the v6 turbo is going to cost you dearly in repairs and maintenance in the future...forget MPG. If you commute / drive a lot for work, get something suited for that (Camry, Accord, Civic, Carolla etc..)

YMMV.
Agreed! But one day the V8 will need to be replaced. The MPG isn’t a deciding factor but it would be nice!

My mileage results mirror yours. Still wouldn't trade it for anything else.

My wife want to trade our Suburban 6.2L High Country for a Sequoia…she’s always liked them. Back when they first came out we test drove one. The sales guy was a total ass. The average well-equipped suv was around $40k… he tells my wife after the typical car sales pitches, “this is a $54,000 automobile, what’s not to love”..

Here’s a question, are they smaller now then when they first came out?

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were in Raleigh.

Haha, my wife would hate slow driving too.
Nice and slow!
