I am a newbie to the club and need some help with tire and wheel setup. I currently purchased some FJ Cruiser wheels that I refinished and need some recommendations on tire size and brand. The 2 tires that I am debating on are the BFG MT KM2 or the Cooper STT Pro 285/70R17. My current setup is a 2” lift Tundra TRD springs up front, OME 906 in the rear with Billy’s 5100/all around.

Thanks, Rich

Hey rich,

I just got a chance to respond to your pm.
As far as tire selection, both tires are a good selection.
The size is good for the set up you have, any bigger and you will start to rub pinch weld.

With those FJ Alloys, you will want to rub a .75" spacer to clear the arms and have the correct scrub radius on the turn.

Thanks Avi!
I might try to upgrade my UCA with a local company JBA offroad so i don't have to use spacers.

BFG MT KM2

I little red heart my KM2's! My 80 is on it's second set and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. Relatively quiet on the street, great on the trails, rocks, and in the mud. Beefy sidewalls take a beating, I've only managed to slice open one . A lot of people slam them for their performance in snow, but I have no complaints.

Any recommendations where to purchase tires. The only place I found close to me was Mavis Tires to purchase the BFG’s

I can't believe I'm saying this. What about Quadratec? They have a distribution center I think near West Chester PA they can be picked up and save shipping.
