From what I have seen Oil lube lasts much longer then oil-less. I have a Rigid 6 gallon (barely runs a impact gun) dual tank that is oil lube before they went to oil less and Aluminum tank. Compressing Air puts moisture in the tank so always let tank dry after using it. Plus it will smell like straight A$$ if you don't.
Having air is so handy. I use it to clean just about everything including my chain saws. You can also use it to run a siphon jug for pulling fluids (break, tranny, oil). I use it so much I take it for granted and wouldn't have a garage without a compressor. The only downside is it is noisy (mount in another room if you can and poke plumbing thru wall).
