I have an 1985 Toyota coaster 12v running a 3b with 5sp manual box, I was told it was just reconditioned when bought it 9mnths ago and from what I can tell that may be plausible do to new gaskets n things that would only be replaced when needed. However it has never not had a lil hink in its get up whether it be high temp one day to higher idle the next , blow by, oil loss , no oil loss , no blow by throw a couple headlight issues in with a slow but deteriorating cold start I'm now left with what I assume is a shot injector pump. This is my first diesel engine and I'm trying to learn quickly but I need help with how to deal with this . One day it didnt start couldn't prime to injectors yet bled at valve on injector block thinking was blockage removed all lines checked them no blockage refit primed again no go.. I forgot to mention my partner and I live in it and we are currently in a car park . So due to my lack of knowledge I repeat the same steps and expect a different result( the definition of insanity) Batteries are flat now day 3. I finally stumble onto a thread about the edic arm so I pull that off still no go. A random bloke comes up n goes does your alternator work I reply it was when she s*** herself. No worries hesays put it another n 4th foot off the clutch I'll drag ya round the car park she will run. It did no key turn off started and ran ok all that day ,no start next morning drag start again. Few days later hot start 10 meters down the Rd heard a clack sound and a continuous clicking greater in noise when loading engine I stopped immediately but had to drive it 3 days later to safety. When I stopped that short drive she was hot! Smokin' hot at the rocker cover full of oil tho. Clearly something is poked n needs repairing but I need any advice from old wizards I can get coz we are shoestring living , cheers
