3b & 40 series 5 speed. Always mated together until the were pulled apart to fit on a smaller pallet. I don't recall what at the moment, but the 3b includes most, if not all, accessories. 24v Euro spec BJ42. 120,000miles (200,000 kilometers). Combo was pulled from a rusty EU bj42 that was parted out.

$4,300. Willing to help someone pickup if local or passing through, can also easily arrange shipping since it is already palletized. We'd need to build a crate around the outside most likely, but not hard to do. Shipping would be at buyer's expense.

Thanks
Erica & Abe

Bump - Please note this does have both 5 speed/LHD shifter sticks, as well as the 40series transmission cross member. All useful items for a 40 swap. Selling this because we happened on a chance to get another, almost identical set up out of Europe & figured we'd share the wealth.
Thanks!

Bump! Going over to where this is stored today, so we'll get some better pics a full list of what is included & post up!

What’s the mpg possibilities for a 40 with this setup, 20?

I had a 3B/4 speed in my 45 and it was a dog, really needed a turbo and 5th gear

GLWS!

Someone on here that has one would have to confirm, as we haven't driven one like this. But I'd think it is well over 20mpg. We got around that in our 3B/4speed BJ45 Troopies, and a 40/42 would be lighter & have the overdrive gear. But a lot would depend on how you drive it. It is interesting to hear yours was a dog. Our troopies were fun to drive, even here at altitude. A turbo would have been fun to have though. They always felt peppy because the torque hits in the, "Seat of the pants" so to speak. I also wonder if axle gears didn't play into it too though.

I have this set up in a 40 with 4.11 gears. It is a bit of a dog going up hills but it will go 70+ mph in 5th on flat ground without much trouble - but damn is it loud.

On trips to Moab and such it has gotten 18-22 mpg going 60-65 mph. Putting around town 25-28 is more common. I’ve also seen as low as 12 mpg in a bad headwind..

I think a turbo is required to really appreciate the 5speed
