35x12.50s on stock 40 rims?

Scott, not a good idea IMOP, stock fj60 wheels(and late 40's) are 6", hub cap type wheels are 5.5". I would not do it.
 
width would be the problem, I assume you mean 35x12.50 on a stock wheel which is do-able but not recommended. A 8" wheel will actually ride better and feel more stable and the last set I bought was about $39.00 each.
 
Yeah, I think I'm just going to do my 255/85s on 16" taco steelies that I've got with some spacers. I am very pro stock wheels. I do have have 10" alums on there now, but nothing IMO looks better than a big skinny on the stock wheels,a nd I don't have the $ to get them widened.
