Great Site And Love The Name Of Our (fellow Pig Owners) Club Forum. New Guy Just Have A Question . Any One Have Any Thoughts Pointers In Doing A Gm350 / Th350 Conversion On A '74 Piggie. Does It Require Drive Line Mods? Or Any Other Unexpected Obstacles? Thanks.

Pretty strait forward as far a engine swaps go - motor mounts, x-member ... prolly need shorter rear driveshaft due to length. This is assuming you're adapting to LC transfer ... if not you have the offset issue as well.

I agree with tucker.

might as well do a 700r4 and get OD. drivetrain is long. will need to cutup and lengthen tranny tunnel or have t-case hang way low(much to low for wheeling). Dont put engine so far forward you cant run a fan. cooling is important on v8 swaps, so make sure your radiator and fan setup are up to the task. Use a good electric(taurus fan or other GOOD aftermarket) or an engine driven clutch fan.

Stock steering box is basically going to be touching the exhaust manifold, so you might want to think about a PS conversion. dont do the generic saginaw(cuts away a scary large portion of the front crossmember on the frame.) look at scout boxes or FJ60.
