Anyone out there who has tried the 35" MTZ's (315's)? Nowhere on ANY of the forums does there seem to be anyone brave (or dum) enough to try the 35/12.5 MTZ's or post any pics of them. I love my 33/12.5's, but would like to fill in the lifted (OME) wheel wells a bit more while still sticking with the same tire... so anyone tried this setup?

hmmm?? pics??

PM walkingeagle He is running the 315s on his LX450. For the price they seem like a good choice.

315's won't fit the FJC without cutting the bodymount and welding it up (box it so it doesn't have an unsupported side)
You may need to trim other pieces in the wheelwell, not sure.

You may also have issue with the UCA's rubbing the 35's, in which case those will need to be replaced...

You will need to add bumpstop or lift more so the tires don't rub on compression, in which case you will loose some travel from the IFS.

The rear, if it rubs on compression, will need bumpstop added as well.

Overall, you may need to simply add more lift to make them fit. To make them offroad properly may take a bit more work...

What is the actual height of this tire. I can tell you that I have worked with the BFG AT 315 and it is 34.5" actual height and it will not fit on FJ unless you do 4"+ lift in the front (not recommended) Here is the other thread talking about tire sizes and lifts. We have testing about a dozen different tires and sizes with the 5 different Suspension kits we are offering.

Thanks for the advice on the compression problem and the body mounts. I am preparing to have them chopped and capped (commitment!). I have seen 35's on a few FJ's and they somehow have managed to make them work. The Goodyear MTR's are being run on a few rigs just at 34" and I like the way they fit, but I have yet to see any 35" MTZ or heard of anyone trying them out.

Here's an example of a lifted rig with what I believe to be 34's on it. It may actually have a larger than 3" lift though. (did I upload this right? hopefully!)
