Hey fellas,
Im looking to upgrade my wheel and tire combo to 265-275/65/18 and would really appreciate some input.
Im looking for feedback on riding qualityb MPGs, loss of power etc.
Also what would be the best offset for 18x9 wheels?

Thanks for your feedback

285/75-17s. Rides Lillie a boat on a lake with 4” round swells. LOL.

It ain’t that bad but it is noticeable there’s larger tires. Rubs a little on full lock with any not level terrain. Mileage dropped maybe 1-2 miles unless you’re in KS. Any hills and it’s searching for a gear.

This is very subjective and hard to tell because each tire line would behave differently. What tire are you looking at? What load range? That would help narrow it down.

If you put Michelin LTX in that size you would probably hardly notice any difference. Put heavy load range E Mud Terrain and it would be noticeably stiffer and put more drag on the drive train.

I installed 275/65/18 on my GX with KO2s on Level 8 18x9 rims with 0 offset. The loss of power was noticeable with the KO2 E rated than the Cooper ATPs that I had for a week. I changed the tires since
The Coopers did not look good at all on a lifted truck. I was getting 15.4 mpg when it was stock but now i only get 13mpg

Do you have any pictures? Level 8 MK6 is what i want as well.. I am not lifted and want Cooper AT3 4S P rated tires

265/70/17 lt load range c is the best size for the 120 platform if you value range, mpg, highway drivability and having 5 tires of the same size with you.

You can gain .25 of ground clearance with 285s at the significant cost of the above.

It is not the MK6 though

Are you wanting 265 or 275 ? Only the 275 will be a 32 inch tire with that aspect ratio. 265 should put you a touch over 30.5 inches. If you want good riding quality and less loss of mileage and power than listen to @Itsky advice and go with a C load range. Lot's of folks seem to think the E range is absolutely necessary for off roading but it's simply not true.

255/75R17's put you right at 32".

To be honest, i was not planning on LT tires at all, Cooper P-rated tires are 6 ply, about 40lbs each. Are they not worth buying at all for offroad? I have been using Bridgestone Dueller HT with decent results but i read that they are awful during winter

I've been wondering about ride quality as well, I put on a 2.5" OME so I would like 32's but if I'm going to hate the power difference I'm not sure which way to go. What would I have to do gearing wise to equal it out? I don't have a problem getting C load as the off roading in NH isn't like out west. I do love the power as it is for sure.

I use P-rated Duratracs and I like them.

Your going to have plenty of power left with a 32'' C-rated tire

Seconded. My commute includes driving from 4500ft to 8000ft every day. Sizing up from 265/65/R17 (30.6") to 265/70/R17 (31.6", granted not a full 32"), I feel no noticeable difference. Plenty of power still on tap to grow more. I'm actually planning 32" 6-ply for myself come Spring.

I run 255/75 Cooper ST MAXX. I feel no issue with power loss. Spare fits fully inflated with no KDSS. I am running a 2" Dobinsons lift and FJ Cruiser wheels. I will probably bump up to 255/80 on my next set of tires. Nothing wrong with 255/75 but with the lift I want to go bigger. Had these tires and wheels before leaking air bags accelerated my time table for the lift.

I run 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. So far, I have no complaints about the ride. No significant change in mpg. No road noise going down the highway.

I've been running a 255/75 Cooper AT34S and been loving it. I have not noticed much power deliver issues, NationWide SmartRide still notices quick accelerations when I hit those moments. Didn't notice any sound level changes either, plus I can still fit a full spare under the rear seats. Mileage for the highway seems to be about 22 on the highway after doing the math.

Damn you all. I am running 265/70/17 but was planning on moving up to 275/70/17, now im second guessing out of fear of power loss and quiet ride.

Power loss will be unnoticeable in the 4.7. I’m running 285s and don’t notice. Sound deadening is 100% better in the GX so I honestly don’t hear the tires either.
