Hi,

I have a couple NH book maps, the Delorme and the Jimapco. JIMAPCO Local Maps My Delorme is pretty old, but the newer ones are better than the Jimapco. I also have some small 8.5 X 11 one page Geographical Survey maps along with the large standard size ones. You can probably find some for Maine if that's where you are looking.

It was we had a lot of fun .

My hat is off to Dennis again on this ride. He has a 6 month old FJ cruiser. About the only mods are BFG A/T's and sliders to protect the rockers. No lockers, no lift, no A-Trac, not even skidplates. (He's working on doing something about that, but he has to be careful not to void the warranty with some mods). Plus he had never really off roaded before the Fall gathering.

Despite the lack of experience and armor plating, he hasn't hesitated to take his FJ everywhere that I went in the 40 the three times I have been out with him. Yeah, he gets hung up a bit at times and needs to make a few charges on some of the more slippery slopes at times, but he doesn't quit and learns more every time he goes out. This last run he had it articulated with one front and one rear tire well off the ground simultaneously. I think he called it a seesaw or teeter totter. That makes me a bit nervous in the 40 (cluck, cluck), but it doesn't seem to bother him at all.

He's an excellent example of how much fun you can have with a relatively stock vehicle and a willingness to learn and try new challenges. Watching him has pretty much converted me to buying an FJ for my daily driver and forgetting about restoring my FJ80. (Smaller, better gas mileage) I'll keep the 40, but the FJ can be a lot of fun and lots more comfortable. (Plus there's the Expedition West to consider).

I hope we can get a lot more newbies and stockers out there in the future. The more folks who get involved in wheeling, the more likely we can present a louder voice and keep wheeling alive.
