I've seen that a bunch of you are pullin M416 or M100 trailers. Anyone ever use one of the 3/4 ton American M101A1s? (Canadian M101A1 is the same as a M416.) I know that they have a wider track and I think that they have a 8'x6' (?) bed. I've seen some behind full size trucks and thought that they would be a great double duty trailer (haulin stuff for home and out on the trail).

They are pretty big for the trail but are really functional if you want to use your Cruiser as a pickup in town. I used one for a bed on my FJ45 and had to shorten it by 18" and narrow it by 4" So that should give you an idea of how big they are.

FTR M101A1 was the same on both sides of the border. M101CDN seems to be how they are describing the newer Canadain version of the M416.

you should see the 105!
1 1/2 ton
6x9
that thing is huge
over 2000 lbs empty IIRC

M101A1 is too big for a Cruiser on the trail. Behind a 3/4 ton pickup around the ranch or for duties like that it's okay (still overly heavy for use off of graded roads IMHO). Behind a Cruiser it is an anchor.

Thanks all. I think when it comes time I will go the custom route then.

I'd go 101.
Not enough room in the 416 for a serious trip in the boonies

??? A Cruiser can't haul an M101 for a serious trip in the boonies. And if the Cruiser itself and a M416 can't carry all your gear... You need to pack lighter. Seriously.
