I am considering putting a 2UZ drivetrain into my FJ40.
The FJ40 would be stretched 10".

I've been planning to get a 2UZ and A750 and associated wiring out of a Sequoia. This can be connected to the J80/J100 transfer case with a 3:1 low range gear set.
But the A750 is VERY long.

If I could, I'd run a TR4050, but I have not been able to find a bellhousing adapter to a 2UZ for that transmission.
H55F bellhousing needs to come from Australia and I need to ship the ring gear overseas. This seems Sub-Optimal.

An R15x/AR5 is a consideration, but these are also very long, and the first gear isn't very deep for rock crawling (If I go manual, I'd like to match the 70:1 I currently have). I'd need to go to an Atlas2 in order to get the deep gearing I already have, or I'd need to get a NWFab BlackBox to adapt to a Land Cruiser split case.

The ZF 8HP70 seems to be a poprular transmission right now (its being used in the Ineos Grenadier, a bunch of MOPARs, and other applications). It will adapt to the J80/J100 transfer or the Split Case, and 51:1 w/ an automatic would get me into the crawl ratio range I'd like to be.

Cheapest/Easiest option would be the A750.
That said, for the cost of the ZF 8HP, TCU, adapters, etc, I might be getting into 1HD-FTE/H155f territory in terms of costs...

Have daily'd a 1uz and a650 combo in my rig for 2 years. Loved it. But I'm in the middle of ditching my a650 for a h150, the 5 speed manual from the 80 series.

It is possible to use all toyota part numbers for this conversion, as there were middle east model 100 series that came with a h151 behind a 2uz. Also a fair bit shorter than the a650 or 750 option and even the r151 option.

An ZF 8hp is an awesome box, but expensive to modify. But if money is no problem, it's a great option
