Been searching and searching and having minimal luck finding the answer to what ECM's will work with what engine/trans combos. I've been able to purchase a 2004 2UZ-FE with A750F trans and ECM. Unfortunately the chap who pulled the engine was unaware that it was fly by wire and required the ignition immobilizer so I have no throttle pedal, key or immobilizer unit. I wouldn't mind running a megasquirt on the engine side but the trans is a bit complicated and I haven't had any luck finding a code for the mega shift computer.

This is going into an FJ40 chassis so I only need the engine and trans to work. Does anyone know if I could put in an earlier Tundra, Landcruiser, 4-Runner ECM without an immobilizer and get things to work? Or, has anyone tuned a A750F with a megashift ECM? Open to other ideas as well. Maybe someway to adapt the 2UZ-FE to an H42 trans since I have one of those sitting around.

If someone could figure out how to successfully drive an A750F with a piggyback ECM it would help not only you but I would imagine a number of early 100 users would also be interested in the upgrade/swap!

You need 99 or 2001 tundra ecu and harnes and the trothe boby the ecu number is 896610C151 you need to be complete sure the engine harnes is for that computer in those years is a couple different ecus and engine harnes for the same year . I not complete sure I thing 2004 that engine is vvti . 99 or 2001 ecu is not vvti . the 1999 or 2001 is very easy ecu just couple wires and go

Thanks for the input. Instead of screwing around with swapping ECU's, harnesses and other aftermarket parts I've just decided to dedicate the time to rebuilding the factory harness. Since this post I've acquired the throttle pedal, harness plugs, shifter assembly and the other bits that I need to run the engine and trans from the factory ecu. In the process of splicing it all back together now and adding stand alone power supplies.

do you have the transponder immobilizer system ?
I have one ordered. It will be a key, ign amplifier and transponder unit that I will then have coded to the PCM. These are next to impossible to get around the security features on. The key/ign amp will be hidden behind the dash with the key used as a back up security feature. I'll leave it in most of the time but if I leave the truck in a dodgy area I'll pull the extra hidden key making it unstartable. The standard FJ40 ignition will be left on the column and be the primary switch.

Dude,
You may be my new hero. I was looking for an older 2uz, but a 2005 just landed in my lap. Can I get your wiring notes or diagrams? Which factory manuals are you using for the wiring?

Thanks!
Brittain
