2nd start button

Engaging the 2nd Start button forces the transmission to basically skip 1st gear. So, you'll start rolling slower. Good for icy starts where you don't want the wheels to slip when you're starting out. Also, you can use it in 4lo when your gearing has changed and you don't want that herky-jerky, high torque power. I think its best use is for that slow start you need in slippery situations...... it provides an easier, softer start because you're starting from 2nd gear instead of 1st. Same as if it was a manual transmission and you shifted into second at the stoplight and pulled away like that when it turned green.

Yes, you can access the manuals on Toyota's owner site as well. Just need to enter your VIN #
