just got a new 2lt injection pump for my 3l. will it give me enough fuel for the 400 cc larger engine?
someone was telling me it will work but not 100%. can anyone shed some light on the subject?

thanks in advance

You need a factory manual. In the fuel injection testing section it will tell you the amount of cc's output. There are things that need to be matched between pump and injectors.

@zukin The full load fueling for the 2LT-II (1990+ version) is more than the 3L, so yes, you should be good to go. You'd probably need to increase the off boost fueling a bit though. The advantage to the 2LT-II pump is it has a boost compensator on it, so if you turbo your 3L at some point, you'll be good to go.

The 1990+ 2LT-II injection pump has a 10mm plunger. The earlier 2LT injection pumps have a 9mm plunger. So hopefully you have the later pump. You can tell by the VE part number on it.

I've attached the fuel specs for both the 2LT-II and 3L pumps.

here you go.

That is definitely the early 2LT injection pump with the smaller 9mm plunger. So is capable of less fuel than the later pump 2LT pump. If you want to make decent power, I recommend finding a different injection pump.

I just bought pump so I won't be looking for a different pump. will it be less power than my 3L pump?
the reason I got the pump was for the boost compensator, since I installed a turbo on my 3L.
any info would be appreciated. thanks

Do you still have your 3L pump? Maybe you can swap the boost compensator over to it?

I would think the old 2L-T pump can be made to work ok, but you won't be able to make a ton of power with it.

I am not after tons more power. Just little more power maybe little better fuel economy. Wasn’t going to run more 15 psi of boost. I was hoping in selling the 3L pump to offset the price of 2LT pump. The 2LT is brand new old stock from denso.

Well, there is a lot to say for having a brand new condition pump. You could try it out and see how it is before selling your 3L pump. Then take things from there.

I lucked into a brand new 2LTE pump on gumtree last year for $380AU. Had a fellow in Oz buy it for me and ship it to Canada - was very kind of him.

do you think I will notice any difference between the 3L and 2LT pump?
have you ever installed boost compensator from a turbo injection pump onto a non turbo
pump. what is the part number of a late model 2LT pump?

thanks again
