hi has any one else had starting problems in this cold weather? My 76 40 just does not want to start. had the block heater on it for acouple of hours and still nothing. Choked it, gas down the carb, battery is good and all that fun. tomorrow in going to throw a heater in the engine. ill play around with the timing, any tips to battle through the cold.

I'm assuming it's turning over fine, but just not catching?

Fuel isn't frozen up? Just thinking out loud here, but perhaps pre-heating the intake manifold (plumbing torch) would help keep the fuel vaporized better if there is somewhere safe away from vacuum lines and such to do it. Maybe a bit of propane down the carb while cranking, if it doesn't back fire and take off your eyebrows. Or drag it into a heated garage......

I had problems last night to start my F motor.
I had it plugged in for 24 hrs straight. The motor turned a little slow, even with 2 batteries.
Ended up sticking a hair drier to the carb with the air intake removed, and boosted the batteries from another vehicle. It took about 4 attempts, but the ol' F roared to life. This weather usually doesn't do anything to my truck, but last night was just brutal.

i got her started today, plugged in all night and threw in a little ceramic heater on the intake side for an hour. was going to try warm up the intake with a torch but to cold, couldnt seal to the tank and almost lost my eyebrows. i think im going to keep the heater in there for winter.
