Using a laser temp gun, my upper radiator hose runs between 180-190°after driving a while. The valve cover and passenger engine side are around 140°.

The exhaust manifold is a bit over 500°. I know exhaust runs hot. Is this in the normal range for a 2F? Can't find data on it anywhere. Thanks!

I just had a laser temp gun on my exhaust yesterday when testing a new thermal-thingy for the carb fan (FJ60). I had about 400*F at the top of the down-tube with the truck idling for about 6 minutes in 95* weather. I did not drive it around. The hottest places on an exhaust are going to be where there are restrictions or tight bends.

My 2F engine temps are what you recorded. Did you discover any problems with your rig running at those temps?

One of the test we did when trying to get the TBI conversion smog legal was a pyrometer test of the exhaust temperature at various locations along the exhaust head pipe. The temp of the exhaust coming out of the cylinder head was well above the 400 to 500 degree number, so evidently most the heat is exhausting rather than remaining in the exhaust manifold/system.
