Hey guys--

*Finally* found time this weekend to pull the 2F out of my 87 FJ60. I grabbed a 2 Ton engine stand off CL for $20, and am borrowing a hoist from a friend (thanks to those who convinced me not to kludge these together).

Anyway, my question is this: After some searching, I've determined that at least for the F engine 10mm bolts are required to connect the block to the stand. Is this the case for the 2F as well? And if so, anyone know the exact thread pitch I need?

Also, any other tips for this project would be greatly appreciated...all my projects on other cars have involved everything but the engine, so I'm a first timer doing this.

Thanks in advance,
JD

Measure how deep the cleats are on your engine stand and add an inch or 30mm to that measurement nad head to fastenal or your favorite bolt and nut plate with the bolts you took out of the bellhousing.

They can match up your 10x1.25mm (?) pitch bolts and get you going.

Take one of the bolts that hold the bellhousing to the block to get the right thread and make sure to get them long enough but you don't want them bottoming out in the hole. I got the bolts to mount mine at my local Napa.

Alright, sounds pretty foolproof. Thanks for your help--I'll be sure to measure the length carefully before buying bolts.
