I am currently rebuilding a 2f out a 1976. I already have all the machine work completed and getting ready to put everything back together.

Does anyone have recommendations on the best place to purchase a new cam shaft, lifters, and an oil pump. I bought an oil pump from Advance (melling). Are these any count?

I noticed coolcruisers has a lifter set for around $110 which is less than anywhere else I found. Are there any differences in the lifters coolcruisers sales versus other brands/companies?

I was looking to get the cam shaft from tpi 4x4. Anyone have any information on their cam shafts or other recommendations?

I currently run the CCOT lifters. They are Japanese and seem to be quality. All I really know is that they have worked well for 8-10K miles. The cam ($200) is maybe a Sealed Power? I went with stock grind.
If you did not already have the oil pump, I would have advised you to go with OEM Toyota. When I rebuilt my '77 2F, I spec'd the oil pump and ran it since it was within factory limits. I show 70+psi on cold startup and 60psi after warmup at any rpm above idle. 50 psi at idle, hot.

Have you asked your machine shop how much it would cost them to order the parts for you?

I am having my 2F rebuilt by my local machine shop and they can order all the replacement parts cheaper than I can find them.

If your stock cam and lifters are in OK shape you can send them to Delta camshaft in Washington. They reground my cam to a 262 duration and resurfaced all my lifters for $125. This has been the only break I have caught on my engine rebuild. With everything i've done and had to replace i'll bet i'll have $2500 into parts and machine work by the time I get my truck back on the road, hopefully next month. It better run good!

My recommendations for a cam is get a hold of Mark W on the board and get it from him. I have one of his special reground cams and it makes a big difference in performance.

From what I had found when I was researching cams the Delta KC 262 duration regrind that I had done is the "Whatley" cam. I'm hoping that this along with my balanced bottom end and .030 head shave is going to work well.

I have just over 500 miles on my rebuilt 1976 2F, no issues so far. The machine shop got everything for me cheaper than I could get (I tried) except the lifters. Personally I think CCOT is a bunch of morons but the lifters they sell are made in Japan by Fuji, so no QA worries there, and they were much cheaper than the machine shop quoted me.

BTW they got me Melling camshaft & oil pump.

You sure the CCOT lifters are Joint Fuji from Japan?

I got a set of CCOT lifters for a cheap price a while back and it was a cheap set of lifters. They had the pressed in tops and 2 of them collapsed after 1000 miles.

Pretty sure, Jim.

Before I ordered them I Googled the CCOT part number and it linked to a Joint Fuji products catalog, showing lifter for F, 2F. It looks like CCOT combined the Fuji stock# and part # into one string of digits. But they do look like they have a pressed in top.

I'll know soon, won't I?:crybaby:

And I had almost run out of crap to worry about....
