judging by your dust showing on your treads i would wager you run them with too much air... ergo the runs better with them aired down running better off-road.

Congrats on the Nittos. This is one of the best, most underrated tires out there.
I have a set of 315's, and this is the smoothest, most capable tire around. I have had some of the supposed best on several other rigs in the past, and the combination of a LC and Nittos is terriffic. I have driven many high speed miles with little noise, yet when I reduce the air and get rough, the tire is hard to beat. I use the tires to transport visiters from New England around Nortern AZ. They think that I am running Michelins. Nittos are that smooth!
I have used these tires on literally miles upon miles of sheet ice with never a tire slip on high mountain roads where others fear to tread. I need no chains or other aids. Most of the roads are almost as wide as my truck. Many are shelf roads on the sides of mountain passes, and I have sometimes backed down for 200 yards or more without losing traction.
The 195 is a size that is not often available. I looked for a set of 195's for a while. I finally settled on the 315 because they were more readily available. My brother has the 195's on his Lexus 80. He likes it to the extent that he bought some 37's, and ended up putting his 195 Nittos back on. They work better. Congrats on some great rubber.

Nice looking tires.

I have the same on my 80.
They are awesome in the snow and on ice--best I've used (never had a dedicated snow tire, though).
Super smooth on the road.
Great off road.
I've had mine for about a year and put them to some pretty good use. I did kill one tire with a tiny (~1cm long) splinter through the sidewall.

I run mine at 37 psi cold on the highway. I have a pretty heavy rig.
I run them at around 28 psi off road--at this pressure they are nice and squishy for added comfort and enough deformation to add traction, but they still have enough support in the sidewall to put on distance and speed. I've run them down to around 22 psi, and they deformed quite a bit--I won't go lower than this on my rig.

Congrats.

Thanks Bryan, my eyes were red reading through all the threads here on MUD and other websites about this tires. The reviews and prices were good, that's why I picked these tires.

I saw and read your thread, and that made me want to buy these Nitto. https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=73758&highlight=nitto+terra+grapplers
When I grow up I wanna be like you:grinpimp:

Did you wheel them any without the lift? If so, did they rub any when you got twisted up?

I did do some mile wheeling in them before the lift, and to my surprise there was no rubbing at all.

Great tires, I have been running them for ~3 years. My only complaint is, for my uses they are too small, should have bought 315's. If they came in 37-12.5's a set would be on my junk!:D

On the pressure thing, I started out running ~40psi and they crowned, wore the center of the tread faster than the edges. After talking to a Nitto rep at SEMA I dropped them to 30psi with much better results, better ride, wear, etc.

Have done a bunch of playing with pressures for off road. Started out at 22psi and lowered from there, found that for my type of wheeling they preform best in the 15-18 psi range. For sandy and/or more rounded rock type trails (like Moab) I run 15psi, sharper more angled rocky trails (our local stuff) I run ~18psi.

I have decide on the 295/75/16 Nitto Grappler AT. I have a 2.5 lift. Before I pull the trigger I need some input on road noise? Running oem tiers now.

Minimal....much less noise than my previous BFG A/T's.

You are going to like them. They are too quiet on the highway and they are good on wet pavement.

I could hardly notice the increase in noise over the OEM Michelin LTX's

X3.

This is what they look right now with 850J/863 OME lift. They have about 18,113 miles on them since they were installed new.

Could you post some pics of your rig with these tires?
