I have been doing some reading on this and from everyones math here these sizes are the same dia. but the 305 is wider. Now coming from stock tire sizes, on my unlifted 100, what should I get. I will lift it later this year. But other than slight rubbing on full stuff is there any problems with this size? It seems to be more widely available.

Oh and what will happen with my milage going from a stock tire to a 295 or 305? 1mpg less?

My 305s rubbed ever so slightly with lift, but that was before doing the t-bars or the Slee Diff-Drop.

In hindsight I probably would have gone with 295s, but that's just me. Don't think I really needed the wider tire.

And yeah, the mileage did drop. I just put the stockers back on and I noticed a big difference back up.

So for 305's I have to at least crank the t-bars?

I have 305 MT's with no lift and I get no rubbing.

Really? Hmmm...

What brand 305's? Nitto/BFG? I am thinking I will go with NTG's but I would like to know as some brands are different sizes.

What about NTG will the 305 fit? Or should I save the money and get 295's instead? I can't decide... go figure.

I think it really depends how and where you are going to be driving. I would think the 305 width would be better in sand, mud, etc.? Personally I am a fan of a little taller and a little less wide (I wish GY made the MT/R in a 11.5"x35"x16")...for the mostly hard rock we have out here. And you might actually be able to get a recovery chain on a 295 if that is important to you...

No need for chains. I am split between highway and dirt backroads and rough rock/dirt trails. I guess I like the looks of the wider tire but don't want problems with clearance issues. I do a lot of high speed rough road situations, I thought it might give me a little more cushin... :) I am a Baja wanabe

Any pictures of 295 or 305's

I just got 305/70/16 BF All Terrains on Thursday, so here are a few pics. Both with and without the running board. The pictures don't do it justice. It makes a huge difference in the look of the truck. I will even add in few pics with the old 275/70/16 tires for comparison.

I get a little rubbing when turning in reverse, but I think it is an easy trim job or something of the such. Pretty sure it just rubbs on the little plastic nub that sticks out on the rear of the fender well.

Looking good! Now all you need to do are the T-Bars! ;)
