The lugs are not siped and I'll have to get back to you on how they perform in the dirt. The way I came across these is I saw another IH8MUD'er who had this same combo on his rig. Here's his website--> www.adventureduo.com

His rig seems to do just fine in all sorts of terrain.

I just got the same ones yesterday. I'll be trying them out this weekend, hopefully....

And the 295 is a good choice. The difference between 33.6 and 35 is negligible unless you're prepared to regeear, etc.

Here are mine, on my stock suspension...

Bump from me. I'm planning on running Cooper STT 285's, but these seem to be worth looking into.

I've been running a set of 33x12x15s on my FJ60 for two years now. I have 20-25k miles on them and expect to get at least 40k. They're not the best mud tire but much better than an AT. Not bad on the highway and the tire howl is reasonable.

I have the Hankook Dynapro MT in a 295/75-16" as a spare and it fits tight on the original spare location, so it seems like this will be my next set of tires, however I am unsure if I should go with 315's just because they look so sweet!:p

Yotafan,
Let's get an update on these. :D

BTW, where in Charlotte are you located? I'd like to see your rig's setup up close if possible.

these tires have been on and off my radar to many times to count.....really now they are back on b/c they seem to be the only MT in the 295 size and like others before have said....i am really close to going to 315's but fear the re-gear and unfortunately this is my DD at the current time. besides the price is hard to beat and discount tire direct has FREE shipping right now

so another bump for updates

The price is great, and they look really nice. You will need to keep us up to date on how they hold up.

Well, it's been almost 2 years and 24K miles later and these tires are still going strong. The tire howl is a little more noticable as the tire wears, but the thing I love about them is that I hardly ever experience hydroplaning. From my research, this seems to be a common problem with MT's. I expect to get another 20K out of them. I've used them in mud and dirt and they have been terrific. A lot better that the AT's they replaced. Would I buy them again? Absolutely! Your choices are severly limited if you want a 295 size MT tire. These fit the bill for me perfectly. Add in the lower price and its a no brainer.

Living in Charlotte, NC, it's hard to tell. We don't get much of the white stuff down here.

I've had mine for a year and I love them. I would buy them again tomorrow no problem. Great price for the tire.

Anyone want to chime in on a comparison between these and the Nitto 295's.

Going over my truck before the ski trip last weekend I noticed that my rear tires are down to the wear bar. Fronts are doing ok, but I'll replace all 5 with MT's this time since the truck is no longer daily - just a weekend rig now. Probably will wait until the bonus, what there will be this year, in July.

Speedo issue won't be much of a problem as I'm already running 285's with the speedo correction gear installed and I don't want to go bigger because I don't want to regear.

By the manufacturer specs, the Hankooks are a half inch taller than the 295 NTG AT's. I've been looking closely b/c I have the 285 NTG AT's and want something a bit taller (the NTG AT's are great tires for the 80, btw).

If yours is not a DD, then the comparisons between tread, onroad and offroad performance, rolling resistance, etc are not issues?

Not really - she's no longer a DD. 11 mpg vs 30 mpg on my commuter pays for the commuter!

That being said, good on road manners, off road performance and occasional snow/ice performance do still matter as do pros and cons of the tread design.

I went with the hankook's MT and will post pictures soon!

I am also going to try them out off-road and let's see if they are better then my old Geolander AT + II which I like alot.

In the road they are not that much noisier, however they have more noise then my AT+II's.

They handle very good for a mud tire now let's see how they handle the truth!

My Hankook mt's have done very well in mud and rocky stuff. Not too sweet in the sand, but I didnt expect that they would be. Air them down to 10 lbs and they do fine in sand. Living in Pismo Beach area I spend more time in the sand than mud or rocks, but thats ok They get the job done. Great multi purpose tire
