:bounce:

FYI I plan on departing on the 7th around 8am. leaving from SANTA MARIA CA 166 to CA 14 to Trona. Look for a White 80 towing a 24ft Keystone travel trailer Ch, 33 on the CB. Holler if ya see me -Joe-

There will be six of us going from LA County Trailcrew 4x4 club. One LX450, one Fj62, one FJ60, and two FJ40's.

Sweet the bigger the Cruiser Family the better :D

On that road closure thing. At our club meeting last night it was stated that anyone attending PVD would have a pass up to Slate Range Road. This was by word of mouth though. Apparently CHP is in on the PVD traffic and cool with it. I so wish I had the name of the person who reported that to our club though.

Man I am getting jazzed about seeing some Land Cruisers on the trail. Everyone in my club drives a J*&p.

What trails is everyone planning on running? For me, since our is sponsoring the event, and leading runs on Look-out City and Defense Mine, I'll be on those runs.

Last year I did cummins cut off to the defense mine then to lookout city, saturday we did pleasant canyon and sunday we drove out and hiked surprise canyon. This year I really would like to check out the goler wash run and I wouldn't mind doing defense mine again. I guess it depends on what runs they have going on fri and sat. Oh and same here I am one of two Land Cruisers in my club, not including my Cruiser (Toyota) only club.

Mazder,
You on HAM or CB? We will be on HAM radios. We'll look for you once past Ridgecrest / through Trona. Bypassing the 14 as we are coming up from LA.

Thanks Mark, it was good to see you and others out there. Normally hang out with the MyJeepRocks.com crowd. Lot of nice people and close to home. It was a shock to see other Cruiser heads. Normally feel like the lone ranger. Ran Cummins Friday, then Saturday went to do Isham. There was a group ahead of us, then our trail leader broke on the gate keeper, so my son and I left and ran Pleasant valley and did some exploring. Just not enough time to see everyone, Kevin

Hmmm.... Maybe next year we can organize a couple brand specific runs. Would that be considered "elitist"? I guess not if we did it the same trails but at different times.

Well I finished off the under frame section of the exhaust on the 80 for the second time since I have owned it. Also bent the front section of the cat skid on the Metal Tech slider. All this I am guessing on the first rock pile on the Look-out/Defense mine/Cummings trail entrance. Oh and pinched a tire bead, but no air loss. I noticed none of this until a day after I got home though. Hopefully everyone fared better, and had a good time. Good Weather, Good Food, Good People, AWESOME TIME!

I was thinking the same thing :D... After this trip I Think I just need to invest in a transfer case skid and a nice rear bumper. No new dings minus the newly clearanced exhaust

The five Toyotas in our group went up to Defence mine on Saturday. We left camp three hours after the scheduled run; we caught up to them in Cummins Cutoff. Two of us ran Cummins. No breaks, but I spent at least ten minutes stuck with a rock firmly wedged between my right rear leaf spring and my tire. A sledgehammer proved to be the appropriate technique!

My Dad you'd to say, don't force it, get a bigger hammer. I didn't have any problems, except for my pre filter was doing its job for the fuel injection. 10 mins to pull and clean out and was running again. Oh I had a K&N filter but I noticed before the trip a slight film on the throttle body, so I replaced it with a Fram paper filter. Big mistake, I couldn't believe the crap the Fram was letting thru. Monday replace it with new K&N, plus K&N lid, and pre filter. Went to Pettis speed shop here in Hesperia, and got everything for 75 bucks. Going to AAT event Sat. for Holchom in Big Bear with MJR. See you all on the trails, KEvin.
