Not to make this more confusing than it already is, but is anyone running 285's on the stock steelies? If so, what are you running?

Got em' 285/70R17 MT/R's on steelies. Will be on next week, will keep you guys posted!

I have the Heavy OME coils up front with 285/70R17 and I DO get very slight rubbing when the wheel is turned and the suspension is compressed. It is in no way a problem because it only rubs the plastic, Not the actual frame. You could just cut a small chunk out of the plastic and rubbing will be eliminated. So the definitive answer isn't so definitive!

Dido this. I'm running 285/70/17's with a 3" lift. I had to shave away the plastic behind the front wheesl, because it did rub HARD turning and/or compressed. I can see on the frame that the tires have rubbed. I can't hear the rubbing, so I can only assume that it occured on the the trails.

I've been looking all the threads concering larger tires, as I want to go taller and wider. If you go to 34" you have to do minor cutting, if you go to 35" you have to do brain surgery cuts. This is all assuming you already have a lift.

I also understand that the B/F A/T are rated at 33" but don't quite measure that tall. If not, then I imagine I would if they were 33" a cut would be necessary.

You guys need to make sure your also letting us know what WHEELS you are running as well, not just tire sizes. Also not all tires are created equal either, so brand and type would be helpful as well.

There's a lot more to whether or not you'll rub then just the tire size.

missed this before Spaldam. but that was what I was aiming at in the above post.

oem 17" Alloy wheels that came from factory....Nitto Terra Grappler 295x70x17 tires...ToyTec 3" OME Lift using oem struts and shocks instead of OME Struts and Shocks.

No rubbing at any time...highway, offroad, hitting driveway, climbing concrete curbs or stumps. I did not do the body mount chop fix.....just added lift with MEDIUM springs both front and rear.

Wrangler MT/R

I just measured for the MT/R 305/70/17's. There is a whole lot of room at full turn, may have to shave a little metal but not much. Gives another inch in height and tread on the road. I like the tread, want to go bigger but don't want to cut any more than I have too. Anyone run these?

I'm running BFG TA K/O 285/70R17's on the factory alloys. Before installing the OME suspension I did get some minor rubbing on the plastic body mount covers; as someone else said, no big deal as the plastic is relatively soft and could be cut away. We'll see how it goes with the new suspension...

Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ 285 x 70 x 17

They fit but I had to take off the gay mudd flap. I am going to get a lift but I thought I would add my pictures.
