This is the alternator originally on my 88 Hj61 24 volt external reg, that i swapped out for a 27040-68030 internal reg. I didnt realize the Amperage was a good bit higher in the internal { I think its 25 vs 40? After running it for about half an hour the gage spikes up to 32 v on the dash, I thought it was just a bad regulator in the alternator , and I have another identical alternator to replace it(27040-68030), would that be just a waste of time swapping it out?
