My FSM states that the air gap should be between .008 and .016. I just finished rebuilding the engine (for the second time due to wrist pin slap) and figured I would check the gap. It checked probably closer to .004. I understand why you would have trouble with a gap larger than .016, but what kind of problems could a .004 or closer gap cause? Other than coming in contact with the pickup assembly?
The truck has been sluggish since I've owned it. Sometimes it runs great, but only on occaision. I'm not sure, but I'm leaning toward something electrical. No codes have been tripped. What do ya'll think?
