My 86 w/ 22r (carb) pickup has become a very efficient water pump. It's going thru about a half gallon a day, none is hitting the ground, milk under the oil cap so I assume it's the head gasket. Has 144k, entire cooling system was replaced when i bought the truck, I guess the po had hurt it...So, should I ad a pacesetter header while I have the head off? Any other suggestions?

Exhaust leaking from the cylinders through a blown head gasket to the water jacket will cause coolant overflow as vehicle is driven. Borrow a block tester from Autozone and test for this per the tester instructions. But then you already know its got a bad gasket.
