ravenna Mi sittin 10 deep.
So I'm puttin my 203 to splitcase adapter together on sunday.I know I said I was puttin it together a couple weeks ago.Well stuff keeps popping up. Anyways, gettin ready to install the new shaft into the 203 and ran into a little problem. The 15 needles do not fit into the shaft. No way ever would they. The way they say to install it is grease up the needles and put em on the shaft in the 203 and then install the new shaft over em.Well after I dug the needle back out of the bottom of the 203 again I figured I'd track down what is goin on.All the bearing surfaces on the shaft are finished ground but where these needle go it is not.I have called Mudrak a couple times and wrote emails but I have not heard back from him.Has any one ran into this before?I make and deal with needle bearings all day at work, thats what we make so please don't think I'm a total dip****.I know all the little secrets to get the needles to sit where they are suppose to.Just gettin flustered, I finally have a lil time to work on my junk and can't do a damn thing.Any one ever get stuff from AA and it not be right?

I did post this in the 40 section to.Figured I get someone.

I put a bunch of grease on the bearings and it just slipped on. You might want to load up all the needle bearings and mic the inside diameter and check the diameter of the shaft. Also, call the vendor to see what the measurement should be.

HTH,

I did call the vendor. He won't call back... not bashing but, closed on monday, called on tueday and emailed, called on wednesday, left messages.Well I skipped work today and heading to the barn.Work sucks.

thanx,

I did talk to people today.Turns out I'm the third person to have this happen to.They thought they had em all found and removed but lucky me found the third one.AA is sending me a new shaft and I just gotta return the old one to em.Still sucks.I won't even have it till the middle of next week. The opening in the messed up shaft was .020 smaller that the original shaft that I removed from the np203.Never got finished ground. So maybe next weekend I can get this thing put together...

Charley is the guy who talked me into doing a 203. Cool guy!

Glad you got it figured out. Now post up some build pics!!!
