Hi all,
I am trying to get some idea of how far I should plan to stretch the centered D60 rear in my 40 in order to fit a TH350 and a 203/205 doubler. From what I have been told, the 203 and adapter plates only add about 6" to the length of the driveline. With the rear end in it's stock location and no doubler, my rear driveshaft will only be about 15" long. I gained 3" of wheel base up front and can push the rear out as far as I want as I build the 4 link. Do any of you have a similar setup in a 40? How short is too short for a rear shaft? How far back did you move your rear end?

Thanks

My 203/205 doubler is about 10" long including rangebox and adapter plate. Mine is behind an SM465, and the wheelbase is for a 45 shortbed (108"?) my rear driveshaft is about 19" long, but has crazy high angle. I can post pictures if you need, or search for my posts entitled "Wagoner Machine Rocks". Talk to Casey if you call them.

Hope this helps, Luke

th350 21.75"
th350 to 203 adapter 1"
203 range 5.75"

WMS 203 to 205 is 3"
staz/jeds is 2.75"
ORD is 3.5" i believe

205 face to CL of yoke 12.25"

push engine as far forward as possible, might suggest even pushing the front grill out a bit.

been impressed with the last set of marlins and 4.7 in the rear, i put together, ALOT easier to lift as well :)

I flipped my pring hangers and my springs and only had to cut 1" off my driveshaft. I'm running 350/700R4/NP203/3sp tlc case. Doing that move my rear end 7" back.

hth,
