This is the answer. I have the same result. I do not think the wallet key is strong enough for the car to pick it up. If I use the regular key it works every time.

Yup this! The wallet key is definitely the problem.

I use the regular key fob and have the problem. I don't even try using the lock button anymore.

Ahh, well I have 3 daily cars and the wallet key is pretty clutch for a few reasons.

I will have to try it with the fob sometime.

Someone would make a lot of money if they could encrypt a phone app that would take place of the keys.

But overall how is the 25 compared to the earlier model? Auto close doors, digital cluster, and massaging seats? What else?

I like the addition of the autoclose doors. I think it was designed with that in mind. Comes in handy on my other cars. Not very polite to slam the door on your date.

Advance Parking Assist with Remote park. Haven't used it in real world situation but tried it in an open parking lot. It's gimmicky but it's probably one of those that I will use once or twice a year.

I'm not sure if previous model have trailer break controller.
