I have been looking for a couple of months for a '16-'19 LX. My daughter talked me into driving a 2022 loaded GX with 10k miles. I had an LX a couple of years ago and sold it to buy a '12 M3 convertible as a dog hauler/beach car. Fast forward to now and I am totally tired of the M3 and looking to get back to the LX/200 fold. So the question for the MUD brain trust is the pros and cons of owning one or the other. For about $65K I can get the 2022 GX with 10Kmiles or a '16-19 LX with 30K miles. Mostly highway driving to go skiing with some mild off roading for camping. Wanting to explore the mild off road areas around Socal since we have moved from Park City to Santa Barbara (sold Moab Brewery and exited Utah in the middle of the pandemic). Planning on putting sliders and maybe a hidden winch and that is about it. I like the LX AHC but the salesman tells me that the GX also has 3-4 inches of travel. I had a built 100 series that I am sorry I sold- the old Moab Brewery truck!! So what says the MUD brain trust?

The GX460 with offroad package (crawl control) in Nori Green blacked out would be tempting in my book, yet a LX570 in pretty much any color is nicer and offers more in about every way. A few more miles (30k vs 10k) seems immaterial. So all things equal, meaning all is well after thorough inspection and test drive, I would go for the LX570.

FYI...since BOTH have the running boards integrated into the side body...putting on sliders is not simple. AHC does require self-maintenance...so, I hope that you're handy.

Both have excellent wheel travel for your needs. BUT LX can lift itself via AHC to improve clearance. GX cannot...and with its predator grill, approach angle is horrendous. GX also does not have transfer case nor fuel tank skids (on most popular models). No CRAWL either on most popular GX models.

My opinion ... since you have $65k to play with...wait a little because used car prices are dropping...get a Land Cruiser. No predator grill to pick up roadkill. No need for AHC. Running boards are NOT integrated and you have lots of options for sliders.

Go with the LX hands down a better vehicle, I drove 2018 ,2020, 2021 gx then drove my 13 LX it is a night and day difference. Go with the LX you will have 0 regrets.

They both have their strengths and while have I owned multiples of both, including at this present moment, if I could only have one it would be the 200 Series but I prefer the LC flavor over the LX. For $65K you should be able to get a brand new GX, I certainly wouldn't pay $65K for a used one.

Oh i have 2019 LC and 2023 GX. LC ride is significantly better IMHO…more comfy with less side to side motion of GX. GX suspension is firm to tame the narrow width and tall statue, resulting in side to side motion that can be uncomfortable on less than perfect road.

But the interior of the GX (2022+) is awesome. Better material quality than my LC for sure (but i am sure that LX interior is better than both). GX has slightly less wind noise than my LC. Same road noise. Apple CarPlay is in GX and works well enough. The cameras and display resolution are fabulous on the newer GX…blows my LC away for sure!

In the end, if i just need 1 vehicle, LC is the one. Bút GX is pretty darn nice…and the V8 is very smooth.

Dont do nothing till the '24 reveal. Its right around the corner. Im not getting my hopes up, but the teaser shot made it look pretty mean.
TT V6, and probably an OR trim of some sort.

If you want V8 get the LC before its impossible. GXs be everywhere in USA.

Agreed, the acoustic glass in the front windows of the 22+ GX puts it on par in terms of cabin noise with the 16+ LX. Carplay is great, better materials and layout too. I love the GX around town and for shorter quick trips (sub 1 hour) and the LC when on the highway or loaded down.

I'd never buy first year and it's likely not going to be out for another 6+ months.
