Our 2008 had this issue where the switch stayed lighted whether the seats were on or not. I replaced the switch unit and it fixed the issue. They're pretty expensive OEM, but I bought one on Ebay from China and it worked fine.
@TimCFJ40 Just had the same issue arise on my ‘08. Started after I used the passenger seat heater to keep my takeout food warm! Thanks for the confirmation and ordering a new switch now.

Do you have advice for removing the old switch out of the console? I have a couple plastic trim tools I can use.

As I recall, I just used a few plastic trim tools to pop it out. I'd probably look for a video or something online to confirm, it's been a while. I am certain that I didn't do anything that took more than a few minutes.

Good Luck! It's an easy enough fix if it works!
Luckily enough it seems to work fine now with the new switch. It is very very similar to the OEM one maybe slightly worse quality plastic but not noticeable from the top, seems like it came from the same factory.

Edit: Also FWIW I was able to pop out the CRAWL control panel below it from the SIDE with a plastic trim removal tool, it took a few tries but then popped out. Could differ on later interiors.
