Just noticed that the 2018 LX 570 is available in a two row configuration. I would love not having stupid 3rd row seats that take up half the cargo area and don't ever get used.

Time to upgrade to a 2018 I guess? LOL.

My brother in law just purchased a 2018 LX570 2 row. It is a lot than the three row if you need the extra cargo space. Although, you can't all the options that are available on the 3 row LX (Heads up display, heated steering wheel, luxury package etc). So pretty much it's a base LX570.

Just went through a build and noticed that options are definitely severely limited. Of course even in the base configuration it is well equipped.

I wonder if these factory 2 row LX's still have all the hardware, holes and brackets for a 3rd row or if you get a nice tidy cargo area? My 3rd row didn't last more than a couple days before it came out. Luckily its a 10 minute job it just leaves some ugly scars behind. Oh well, I suppose that's just more motivation to cover it up with a nice drawer system.

^Good question. If I had to guess, I'm thinking not.

The RAV4 at one point offered a 3rd row. There were several welded unibody bracketing and bolt positions that didn't exist in the 2-row only version. So one couldn't configure one version to the other after the fact.

I wonder how much payload capacity the 2-row version gains.

I'm mostly interested in whether the Lexus 2 row has plastic covers over where the 3rs row would mount. If so, thats the source of the covers for me when I remove the 3rd row.

Lex97h, could you ask your BIL to check it out or shoot you a picture of the interior panels where the 3rd row isnt?

You buy a Lexus LX for all the the features missing in the LC. Pretty stupid they would cut so many key options if you don’t want 3rd row. If Ranger Rover was reliable, I’d pick that over the LX in a heart beat.

Even outside of those missing packages, the LX has a ton of standard content over the LC. There's no such thing as stripper LX. Only excessive level of features, and more excessive flourishes on top of that. All gravy.

If you are inquiring about the rear interior panel where the 3rd row would bolt to, then no there are no plastic cover there. It is a complete cover with no cutout for the 3rd row. Unfortunately, if you want the clean look of no 3rd row then you will have to purchase the entire rear cargo interior panel. I do believe they are interchangeable between the 2 row and 3 row LX.

@lex97h What are you trying to say?

Thanks for checking that out.

I believe the rear interior panel where the wheel well is could be interchangeable between the 2 row and 3 row LX. They look very similar except the 2 row now has a cargo cover. And I believe when Lexus comes out with the 2 row all weather mat for the cargo area, it will cover those holes on the floor board left from the 3rd row seat. We shall see. I am waiting for that cargo cover as well.

Wow...I hate the third row seat "requirement". Also brings the LX down to LC MSRP...but with the third row seat already removed. Not sure what "features" of the LC might be "missing" on an LX Two Row...IF any? I believe the "base" LX has quite a few options not on the LC? Wish it were available in the red color.

BTW...are the dealers getting delivery of a reasonable inventory of Two Rows? ANY thought on a two row LC for '18?

This may have made my choice...TomR

My dealer usually has 5-7 LX in stock

I asked last week when wife’s new LX was in for service

He said he will be keeping 50% of his LX stock 5 seater only

Here’s a couple pics I snapped today while waiting to get a key made.
