So i have a new 2017 Toyota LC, i started a thread on increasing headroom.

I am considering taking out part of the headliner (it appears to be 3/4" thick) over my head and have a very thin pad inserted to add clearance. It seems better than taking foam out of the seats?

Another idea, has anyone bolted in the LX driver seat into the LC200, i cannot imagine that in would not just bolt in- and that seat offers a bit more adjustment (including thigh extenders) and "appears" to be a bit thinner. That may be a great idea, seein that the leather and color is the same, it might be a good conversion.

Has anyone looked at this or have any knowledge here? I'm curious if its just as bolt in as i think it is...

Didn't know the LX 570 front seats have thighs extenders. That's a plus for us tall drivers. I sure miss my X5 m driver seat with thigh extender. Worth looking into this.

Have you sat in an LX? Did you have more headroom?

I mentioned this before in your other thread but removing seat foam and rebuilding seat with thinner/higher density foam to suit your needs may be the best option and much easier than you think if an upholstery pro does it. Although for different reasons, they do this all the time. They could even keep your original seat foam bottom for you just in case you ever wanted to return to original down the line.

I totally agree.

Not to be a smartass, but your making this unnecessarily complex. Search your area/town for some names of people that do car interiors and have them put a different "thinner" foam or up grade to a GEL SEAT cushion. Google "gel seat materials" and you may end up with the most comfortable 200 series seat in the world. No worries about leather color or if the wiring harness is exactly the same between the LC and the LX. I'm thinking if the LX has extra moving parts the seat memory function may not take that into account. Anyhow, simple is good, reduce your variables. If you have a headache, no need for brain surgery just take an aspirin.

Now you have me thinking about a gel seat... AHHH!!!!

I like that idea, but I also wanna keep the cooled seat, that could be fine with foam, I did that on the recaros in my CTSV Cadillac- but it affected my air cooled seats (something I really enjoy)

I'm concerned the gel wouldn't have the ability to work with the seat coolers.

I have sat in the LX, and it had more headroom- and the thigh extenders were nice. I'm 6'4 285, so every bit helps. I just couldn't go for the LX over the 200. I love it too much.

And I don't disagree with the seat mod, but the padding isn't the ceiling is very thick too, and that seems like easy work for a shop too

A seat can be unbolted taken out to work on...headliner, not soo much. Actually headliner would be more difficult than going after the seat as source of the change.

Im going to go to newport lexus this week, i know the GM, im going to see what the cost is for the seat, if its under $1500, I'll buy one and see.....

How tall are you? I've got the torso length of a 6'5" guy. If I pull my seat forward a bit, tip back a bit...with the butt all the way down and the thigh support all the way up...I fit just fine. Are you SURE there aren't some seat adjustments you can do that perhaps aren't what you've tried, or maybe a little different than you're used to? I'd just wanna make sure I gave some other adjustments a try before I start hacking things apart. ;)

I am 6'4 285, but i only have a 32/33 inseam, so im torso tall too. I tried the tilt back on the seat and it added more room for sure. Just not so sure that I like the amount of tilt and the fact my shoulders hit the B pillar doing that
