I just did the current 23 map update on my LX570. with the car off I put in the the SD card. When I started the car, it went through the boot screen and warning, some blackout then it asked me to update and I proceeded.

Yep, that's what I ended up doing. Thanks

Where is the cheapest place to buy the Navigation SD card for a 2020 LC200? I bought a card on Amazon, but it never gets past "checking data". Thanks in advance.

I also tried one from Amazon and it didn't work either. Got my 2023 map from Olathe Parts. I've gone 5-6 years without updating and sucked it up.

I think you really have to go with the dealer, it was $210 plus tax for me at my local dealer took 2-3days to come in. 2021 LX 570 so Gen9 nav. Latest map: PT219-GEN09-23 NAV UPDATE SD CARD. Online cost more than this for me actually.

So mines a 2018…. But these guys are easy to deal with and 2 day shipping to LA. Talk to John. 216 including shipping.

I bought the 2023 NAV GPS update card from Frontier Toyota in CA. Cost with shipping was around $198.00. The parts department rep said they "think" Toyota will continue to update the GPS software package annually for the next few years. My original software was dated 2019 (my 2020 LC200 HE was built in 11-19). I figured an update after four years was warranted.

Same here. I've tried my local Toyota of Plano Texas and they didn't have it so I ordered from Toyota Parts Deal.com Cost was $209 and took about 2 weeks to arrive from New Mexico according to the tracking. The files are a couple years behind. Here's the 2024 released updates for Toyota NAV Link. https://www.toyotapartsandservice.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/11_NavigationMap_2024_hi.pdf

Do you guys actually use the gps navigation in our rigs? It is soooo outdated when compared to what we have in today's phones? I have CP installed in mine, so asking just out of curiosity.

For daily, I use iPhone with Waze. However there have been instances when I'm out exploring where there is no cellular reception and the factory navigation is a good back up. Also like the bigger display and would like to add Car Play at some point.

We have had a lot of development in our area over the years, so I just wanted map data that was not 5+ years old where some roads don't exist anymore.
It's a toss up and I like having options.

I use it in north up view as it's a larger screen and gives me a sense of the bigger picture.
Google maps is what we use for navigation on our phones. For that I prefer track up view.
So I use both at once.

With that said I'm considering getting a tablet computer and some velcro so as to attach it in front of the screen for nav.

The Nav is so darn slow... not worth the $$ to update... Most phone navigation offer offline map downloads, including apple and google maps fyi...

Updated map, updated points of interest, and when I updated from 2016 to 2023, a more readable and nicer looking map layout. My wife didn’t know I had installed the update and she noticed the nicer looking map display immediately the first time she looked at it after installation.

Great! Can you post a pic so we can compare? TIA

What are you gaining by taking these updates? Do they improve the user experience or just add a few new street names?
I actually find it nice to have an option to either use my iPhone connected to iHeartRadio so that way I can have Waze play through while I’m listening to my radio stations or use the the built-in navigation. As they noted below, it updates the POI data too. I thought about adding CarPlay. I probably will one day.
