so i had my 2017 LC in for its recommended service (15k miles in one year)

They called me stating that i may need front brakes (not surprising for a toyota, my old 2011 lexus GX needed them every 12k or so) as the pad inspection advise the front drivers side is 4mm. Its under Toyota care, so I said no problem, have at it.

They called back an hour later, and said that only the outside drivers side pad was 4mm, the rest were ok. This caused them some concern as the pistons in the caliper are bad!

Parts are scarce, they are a huge dealer and didn’t have/couldn’t get they parts for a few days..

Its been a few days at the dealer because the pads were on backorder, so ive been stuck with a RAV4 hybrid ....

Has anyone else had this issue?

I have an 11 and I have had several other 200s over the past decade, I have noticed my 18 does have an odd brake pedal feel. The 18 seems to engage slow then clamp down hard and fast. Nothing like the smooth consistent brake pedal action on my 2011.

I have noticed the same. My 2015 is soft until the end, and then it grabs and stops. I can control it so it is not too jerky, but it took a little while to get used to it.

Interesting,

So i just Got it back, it had been in the dealer since Saturday. They had to replace the front pads and the drivers side caliper.

The brakes are now amazing- the grabby feel is gone and the braking is smooth and consistent!

Anyone who has thsi issue should get them checked out, they said its an issue with the piston in the caliper sticking .....

That's what it feels like there is a little sticky feel to them.
Anyone else noticed an odd hot smell to it when you first pull into the garage and shut it off after a being on the road a while.
I was thinking it was just the new vehicle smell as the engine exhaust etc etc. were getting broke in.
It might be the brakes. To wear out the pads that fast they would have to be dragging to some degree, I would think anyway.
But it's odd that my fuel mileage doesn't seem off, I getting about 1mpg better then the 11 gets thought it should do about that with the 8speed trans on the 18.

Interesting stuff. I have a 2016. My rotors are very hot to the touch (can't touch for more than a half second) after parking at home and often have just a hint of singe smell to them. I do city driving, and my last mile is stop and go through a residential area. I'm not sure if this is normal. My brakes are also very grabby.
