Looks OK to me. IMO they should build it on a longer J150 platform. Bring the 4runner and Taco back together. Give it the 4runner rear suspension and rear axle with discs. Put in the vvti 1GR - maybe 300hp tune and a 6speed auto. Give it KDSS and crawl control and all the other goodies that the 4runner gets that the Taco is left out of. And a turbo 4cyl for a base engine. Would be pretty awesome IMO.
The look seems in line with current fashion........ but that's not saying much.
Aside from the embarrassing cartoon front, the apparent 'chop-top' styling featuring reduced window height is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Why would anyone want less visibility?
I'm not a fan. Hopefully it better mechanically. But it looks just over done. And that approach angle on the front is ridiculous. I'll stick to my gen 1.
Just watched the press reveal at the NAIAS (Detroit Auto Show). I'm anxious to learn more about the new motor: 3.5L V6, Atkinson Cycle, Direct and Port Fuel Injection. Atkinson-cycle favors efficiency over power so I wonder how the need for power will be handled and what the final power/torque and MPG numbers will be.
