As of today my 2016, 70k miles, has started randomly dying at idle. I got it out of the garage, drove 20 or so miles on the highway and when I got back into town it died at a stop sign. The engine just shut off and the “ignition on” screen displayed in the cluster. I put the the vehicle in park and it just cranked but wouldn’t fire. Waited a minute or so and tried to crank again and it fired up and I made it home.

Now it has started dying after about a minute of idling. It is a stuttering dying, like being starved of fuel. No CEL is being thrown.

I’m completely at a loss. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I’m supposed to be leaving on a cross country trip in 4 days in this 200

As above and I'm sure you've done this, check your battery connections/terminals. I had a loose terminal on a previous vehicle and what you describe is the same type of behavior I was experiencing.

The run time of idling has been steadily declining since it first died. It went from 20 minutes, to 5, to 1, and now it will not fire. After consulting with some experienced service techs at dealerships, everyone agrees that is is most likely the fuel pump. I have good electrical power to all plugs and sensors and no codes are being thrown. Searching on tundra forums, this is a well documented issue over there. Looks like I just drew the short straw.

Bummer as I am supposed to take this 200 on my yearly CO camping trip, but looks like this year I’ll be headed out in my Raptor.
