I have currently a 2016 onyx blue terra int thinking of selling it or trade to a gray HE 2021. Hard decision since some accessories are not on HE. I prefer rare 200 in the future. Should i let go of my blue and get the HE?

Tough call as I love my Blue 200 and haven’t seen another one like it in my area. The colors I see most are white, black and grey. I had grey one in the past and loved the color more when added a lift and non shiny wheels. Here’s mine all nice and dirty before I sold it to a fellow mudder. Nothing stays clean very long in Colorado 🤷🏻 You’re in SoCal, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Depends on just how much money you have to burn. Truly, if you have 30-40k to lose on the trade, assuming purchased new, and it won’t hurt, and your wife won’t leave you, have at it.

It’s the same vehicle brother - just a few less parts in some areas and a set of gold colored Tundra wheels. It’s never been a compelling desire to trade mine once I saw one at the dealer.

These cars will likely never be collectible in our lifetime, and if you’re of the means to purchase a 90k vehicle, inspite of how much you like the car initially, you likely will fall in love with another ‘can’t live without it’ car in two years anyway. Most premium car owners keep cars 2-3 years before they move on.

Other opinions may vary.

Love my gray HE and had a 17 gray as well. Mag gray is the least made color too so as an HE it is the rarest of the rare if that's what you are going for.

I agree. Its a tough decision to make. Less amenities for more money. For some reason it keeps bugging me but i dont want to regret of letting go of my blue either.

We nearly bought an Onyx Blue back in 2018 and I wish we had, I love how in certain light it looks black. Since that day some two plus years back, I haven't seen another blue 2016+ LC in person and we are just outside of Houston where there are piles of them. It wasn't until Friday of this week that I saw a blue one exiting the toll road and yelled at the wife lol, she was just as surprised. I'd have a hard time letting that color go personally because they haven't made it in a few years and it was an extremely low production color in the LC.

Your advantages to trading for the HE is that you'll get a brand new vehicle in the final year model, smoked headlights (which I am very envious of), and all of the HE badging, wheels, etc. Personally I am not a fan of losing the cool box, the basket is silly and ridiculous looking, I don't care for the two-tone mirrors with the added chrome strip and losing the third row jump seats is subjective and a very personal choice. You will also gain some small '18+ upgrades like the auto lift gate which is nice to have.

If you want those changes/upgrades and can afford to take the loss on your 2016 then go for it, but if you love the blue and have already started modding it then I don't see any issue in keeping what you have and saving that money for other hobbies, investments, ventures, etc. Best of luck with your decision, neither one sucks lol.

I agree on that brother! First time i saw my blue decided i want it quick inspite of not having pics yet on the ad from
Dealership and drove 7hrs just to get that combo. I prefer the cool box too and interior color.

It’s good to be a little unique amongst the masses. I’ve had so many white, black, gray and silver cars that the colors have bored me. How many blue suvs do you see roaming around vs the other mainstream colors. Just get the color you like best. You could always wrap your suv in any color you want. 😎

My favorite color in general is green and dark green has been MIA on these 200's since the early years. I might be in the minority here, but I wish they'd come out with another dark green option, my wife disagrees whole heartedly lol. I know most see the blues, greens and maroon/burgundy as "old people" colors but I long for a dark green and I am only 36 lol. I agree with @Angelo1, it's nice to be different and have a more unique color alternate of the masses, sadly this day and age the manufacturers think that means it needs to be a skittle color or some sort of matte option, we aren't driving Lamborghini's here lol.

When I went to the dealer to look at LCs, I could have saved a few $ getting one of their leftover '15s, but I ordered a '16 solely because it came in blue. I love it.

The only color we'd likely consider in the future is Onyx Blue. Our current 200 is Pacific Blue.

All 200 series are "rare" in the USA. If you want extra rare get a three row HE .

I would probably try to sell it, I don’t think dealers are giving great trade in values, even though they are turning around and selling them at a mark up.

Based on color alone I’d keep it

I have the same dilemma. I want and have been searching for a magnetic gray HE (with or without third row) unsuccessfully. As a safety net, I went ahead and got a '21 white HE before they all become above msrp. Not driving it coz the plan is to resell below sticker should I get a hold of a gray one. May the force be with me!

Ilm on a hold for a gray. But i dont to have this blue plus gray monthly payments. Unless have to sell 1 of my 80 and 1 100.😩

Mine is an 2018 Blue and I personally have no desire to trade for a brand new HE. Everyone is different, but for me its the same vehicle without the rear seat (which we use when the fam goes on vaca) and without the cool box (which I use daily and while going on family trips).

Since you asked for opinions, I mine would be to keep what you have and pocket the money you will loose on the trade.

That's just me and Lord knows I have blown money on things others think is a bad decision but I thought was worth it. So decide what is right for you and don't look back.
