It was really popular in the GX world to trim the front bumper. The 2014+ GX has a similar front end to the 2016+ LX570, so I am wondering if any one had attempted anything similar?

I think it looks…worse, right up there with marker lights.

I dont think it looks great either but thats not really the point.

Its that or buying a $2500 bumper that looks horrible if you want more clearance, and even then I am not sure specific 2016+ bumpers like the CBI Covert even gets you much more clearance. Lexus just didnt do anyone any favors with these dumb front ends.

Also, I question whether a full bull bar bumper will hurt airflow into the cooling stack enough to be an issue while towing. I know when I put an ARB Bullbar on my Jeep Liberty it absolutely had a negative effect on cooling to the point that the thing would warm up climbing Parleys Canyon here in UT on 95* days. I would have to drop gears to get the waterpump and cooling fan spinning faster.

I've been pondering this too. I really don't want to do an aftermarket bumper for many of the same reasons - weight, cooling, aero drag. Been thinking how to do a subtle viper cut to get some moderate steel underneath. I don't really need much clearance as between the tires, AHC lift, and body lift, it's pretty solid already and an aftermarket bumper will probably only reduce approach angle to some degree as they all tend to stick further out than the stock body lines.

The 2016+ LXs probably have more to gain from some sort of viper cut.

Yeah there is a lot of front end on these 2016’s, it’s all just empty space too. The fancy fog lights don’t make trimming any easier.
