I’ve got a 2016 LC that must have taken a rock or something to the passenger side fog light on a recent trip. The glass isn’t broken or anything, but it is hanging loose inside of the bumper. I figured now is as good a time as any to change it out for something upgraded, but I’m now realizing that neither of the fogs are working at all. Need to get this squared away before I toss other lights at it.

It may be a coincidence, but I cannot confidently say they did or did not work prior to me noticing the damaged light. Light on the dash indicates the fog lights are on, but I am not getting anything.

Before I start ripping the bumper out and digging through this, are there any known issues with the OEM fogs? I could understand the passenger side not working given its physical condition, but both seems odd. Do they run on a series circuit? Any diagrams out there to help me chase? I’ve reached out to a fellow member to hopefully locate a 2016 FSM.

Thanks!

Check the fuse and relay? It is a bulletproof system. Easy enough to get in there and see if there is anything going on at the harness with a multimeter. You going to need power for any aftermarket system. I really like my Baja Designs, several threads on options.

Embarrassingly, fuse and relay weren’t at the forefront, but you’re right. Clouded by the physical damage scoped on a “physical” problem. Thanks for the reminder!

Does the 200 series display any bulb-out errors? While I think those are pointless, I want to ensure these don’t have them as I do not see anything.

Fog fuse (7.5A) is good. Relay is clicking. Getting a whole lotta nothing for voltage at the fog’s plug. Should be seeing 12V, correct?

Surprise cut cable on a no-accident vehicle? From what I see everything looks great and fine.

Does anyone have a diagram so I can chase? There must be something else inline?

Well this is strange. Someone has been in here, yet the hardware shows zero sign of being fiddled with since, well, new.

Found the culprit. Harness plug that powers the fogs appeared to be set. Looked a little closer and realized it was partially in, but with the harness clip secured to itself, not the plug.

What I originally saw (you can probably see how I missed it)

How it is now (and with working fogs)
