love the wheels

but 0 offset scared me away
Totally understand that. They do rub a good amount more for being the exact same tires verse the rock warriors. The idea, knowing it will rub off road worse. Will hopefully keep me from anything that can damage the truck 😂

I think it's wishful thinking as the offset will damage the truck 🤣

I like the f sport center caps! I will be installing some rw wheels on my 14 LX, mind sharing how you did t
I used Lexus GX or GS F sport Center caps. Then added a dab of adhesive to the back as they were a little loose for my liking. It had been a year with no issues. 10k miles. Think they run around 20-25 a center cap.

You got and installed those wheels with such a quickness, I was hoping to chime in before you got them mounted. Looks good but like @ryanCA , I'm kinda scared for you.

It's not untrue that it'll damage the truck, beyond just rubbing. Bearings, bushings, steering rack, tires all work overtime. You might find that the steering kicks back with a lot more feedback too and will be more fatiguing on trips.

you are the reason I have the setup I have

and I am damn happy about it 😎

I had to try the 0 offset. Its my normal go to for yota, or +6. I like the wider poke look but do not like rubbing or cutting. At first. Even though I would like to cut the front bumper for clearance/looks. I might end up going back to the RW and kept them for this exact reason. Really want the SSW Dakars but glad I did not spend that money, to find out the same thing.

I've been there too. Gotta scratch the itch and push the boundaries too far, to know where just right is. And just right will be different for everyone.

With the spacers, where do you think you are sitting at? +15?

With 1" spacers on factory +60mm wheels, right at +35mm.

Optimal offset from a suspension geometry perspective depends on overall tire diameter. Rock Warriors were designed for 285/70/17 (32.8") with an optimal +50mm offset. There is some leeway, but getting further from optimal starts inviting unfavorable symptoms.

+35 is pretty great for most every upsized tire, for geometry and clearance. +25 if often used for narrows, but will often make it harder to run full fat tires.

Few hundred miles on the setup now. No wheeling. Only pavement pounding. Still rubbing a good when reversing out of spots/driveways and turning. Slightly annoying. Need to bend and heat up more of the liner I am guessing? Regardless, I do love the way the offset looks as well as the wheels.

I’m running a 35x12.5 on 25mm and had a ton of rubbing. You’ll not get very far with a heat gun making 0mm work. Pull the back of the fender liner and hammer back the pinch weld. I’d also do a BMC if you are committed to 0mm or you’ll have a bad time once you stuff them.

I also just rub inside of rear fender wells. Not sure if I’ll address that yet.

I was hoping no one would mention the rears.....I was going to pretend the possibility of it rubbing there not existing. 🤣

I definitely have to sit and think if this is a set up I want long term. ORRRRR go ahead and refinish my rock warriors now that they are off.

I like the new wheels, but man I wish we could find rock warriors easily in Canada
Lets work on getting you a set? What is the main killer? Shipping and import taxes?

While I continue to add miles to this wheel set up. I cant help but love how it looks...ALOT. Damn does that rubbing annoy me and I am not exactly fond of cutting into this platform JUST yet. The idea is coming around though. The weather shifted. I admit..... I would have rather went for a drive with the dogs and into the woods over stuffing the rear to see if its fits. Heating things up, and beating the pinch weld up front to see. No garage struggles.

I did just that. Now, I will sit and think of the rock warriors in darker satin like these...or a darker satin bronze has always been pulling at me. They are off and the process of taking them a part can start.

LOVE those new shots, I’m a sucker for foreground snow. Shipping to Canada is astronomical, brokerage fees are often 30+% of the claimed value with ups and fedex, and Canada post are iffy at best. Factor in the exchange rate and it would likely be over $2k so likely better to keep my eyes open locally. Great build thread, I’ll definitely be keeping a watch on it.

She definitely needs massaging vs the rock warriors. Rubs a good amount in reverse which means it'll rub terribly wheeling and under full compression+lock. Breaking out the heat gun to start.

17x8.5 +0 & 285/70/17
Low. High. Far away high.
Did you have any issues with the wheel stud length? I got a set of fifteen52 Metric HD, which I think all the dimensions are the same, but I could not get them on there with the stock wheels studs. I see now how short the distance on the stock wheels is between the hub and the lug nut, it has to be 1/2in on these wheels.... my fault for not test fitting before installing wheels.

Desperately trying to find some longer wheel studs now, another thread led me to these. What lug nuts are you running too? I got a set of gorilla locking, but I want to swap them out for something open-ended I think, especially with longer studs. Nobody is stealing these 85lb things...

I need to swap out these rotors for stock. Looking now, potentially they are thicker than stock? Can anyone confirm?

Woah man!! No I did not have this issue at all on my end. Everything went together really smooth with more than enough bite on the studs.

Not having true extended lug nuts is the issue for sure, now I see. 0 offset is now the bigger issue for me.
The lug nuts I have are from Discount Tire. They are the black, thinner extended lug nuts that fit into the wheels better.

The 0 offset is a issue with these trucks. If you dont mind losing fender liners, cutting, rolling fenders, and beating. It will work. Just not on this particular truck. lol
