Howdy;
I have a 2013 Tacoma DCSB SR5. No rear locker. Looking at the TRD offroad e-locker, it doesn't look like the rear locker differential is swap-able between my truck and that truck as the axle housing itself looks different. The wiring harness loom for the e-locker isn't there either.
However, I have a plasma cutter and a drill. I could modify the axle housing; if the alxes and spline count are the same?
It doesn't bother me that the wiring loom isn't there, as I think you can only6 select the e-locker in low range the way the factory wires it.

If all that isn't possible; perhaps it's possible to drop in an 80 series rear locker and wire that?
I'm not sure if the FJC has one at all, or if that would fit, or, if the old T-100 or some other Tacoma would fit? or the FJ60 manual locker?

I know "the easy answer is ARB air locker".....

thanks for any help/ideas/etc.

I"m no expert on this, but I'm pretty sure the e-locker won't go into the non-locked axle housing, the non-locked diff is bigger. It's more than just the "notch" for the actuator and moving some studs. You will need to get the axle housing as well. Totally possible, I'm sure it's been done, but lots of $$$ and work. That's what I remember reading, perhaps I'm wrong though.

The 80-series e-locker won't fit, not even close. Very different.

I have dual e-lockers, they are nice, but they are not all that. Just get an ARB.

Yes, the housing is different.
I thought maybe I could plasma cut the area for the actuator etc.
I'm on 2.5" of lift and 32's, I think the e-locker would work just fine for me.
I've looked at online wrecking yards to find one; seems like such a thing could be had for about $1500.
Or, maybe I could get the bare housing, and get a new chunk at the dealer.

I've looked into this myself (I have an 08 DC Long Bed TRD Sport). In short, I think by the time it's said and done, you're much better off doing an ARB air locker. also, IIRC the TRD OffRoad uses different gears than the non-TRD Offroad, so you would need to figure in the gearset as well.

The 8.4" which has girdled carrier bearing caps:

And the regular E-locker which doesn't

Shoot, the gears are different?
Yeah.
That kind if wrecks it, budget wise.

Yes. IIRC, the stock e-lockers were wither 3.90s or 4.30s.
My tacoma has 4.56's.

East Coast Gear Supply had a Diff Builder on their site.
If you send them your housing, it's $1560 + shipping and that is with new gears, bearings, ARB, and diff lube.

No affiliation, yadda yadda yadda...

Shoot, the gears are different?

Oh, I thought you knew this. Yes, they are different.

Yes. IIRC, the stock e-lockers were wither 3.90s or 4.30s.

I don't know what year my TRD e-locker came out of, but it had 4.10's in it. 4.88's in them now (front is HP from an FZJ-80).

I would just do an ARB. The non-locking diff is stronger anyhow. Mine's got a factory limited slip, fine for what it will see. I think all the earlier Tacomas with the elocker were 4.10's.

Don't Eaton make a e-locker for this model?
No, only the detroit automatic locker (I think both full carrier and lunchbox style).
The only option for a selectable locker is the ARB.
TJM might make one but it's not as common as the ARB, and the price is similar, so I'd just do the ARB.

ARB or swap out the whole axle.
