April 15th - Club Meeting at Wellesley Toyota

Meeting on club matters. After the meeting Nai and the good folks at Wellesley Toyota have offered to feed us and let us use their new shop and lifts.
More details to follow

April 4/28-4/29 OEX-Training (details still being worked out.)

May- 5th Trail cut/maintenance at Kina's

May 19th - Gremlin Graveyard - Private property in Central MA - This area is recommended for stock vehicles and up. Vehicle limit is 20 rigs. There is some moderate stuff with the opportunity to cut more. Long term potential to build hard stuff but nothing in the immediate future.

June 1-3rd - Gretchen's - Camping, wheeling and hopefully no rain!

June 30- Kina's

July New Property TBA most likely 3rd weekend in July.

August 8/18 - Moose Mountain - Located in New Hampshire, it's wet and rocky and there is stuff for the hardcore guys. Just look up the post from the last time we were there.

September 8-9th - Garry's VT run. Hoping to get back up there for some wheeling and relaxing. Great area but as we know the trail system in VT has taken quite a beating from last falls storm.

September 27th-30th - Fall Gathering - You know the deal

October 10th - Old Florida Rd - Western Mass unmaintained roads.

Details to follow

CMCC is July 11-14. Will clash with The summit run.

Didn't get the dates for the cmcc. I'll cancel that run then. It's the only date available for the summer.

Don't cancel just because Chris can't make it!

Going to see if we can swap it.
If Chris doesn't come then there's no real entertainment!

There is also a E4W run called florida vacation that same weekend. Its in northwestern mass.

Keep in mind the MA off-highway policies. All trucks have to be registered unless you own the property. My understanding is that it doesn't matter if you are on someone else's private land... You still need the stickers.

Edit... Not just registered for road use, need additional off-highway reg.

i think you just need registration if you ride on public trails. private land no registration required,

To the best of my knowledge-

You need to be registered to drive on the unmaintained roads because they are technically roads.

To use private land you must be registered as a OHV in MA.

If you are interested in registering your truck as a OHV in MA and are a out of state resident feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.
It's $30 a year for non residents and $40 for 2 years for in state residents.

The club will not enforce this law. We will inform you of the law and it is up to you to take action.

And what is the penalty for violating this law?

I read 3-4 pages over on the NEA forum and there is nothing on the penalty.
Furthermore I frequent many local forums here in MA and no one that I know of has been ticketed from any EPO for recreating on private land.
I personally will have the ohv sticker but will not enforce the law. I will make people aware of the law.
If you read it it's pretty confusing and contradicts itself a few times in its wording.
Only thing I have ever heard is that they have asked for written permission for you to be wheeling on private lands here in MA.
I will have that written permission in hand for any trail rides in MA with the exception of Old Florida Road (public).

Maybe i should register my buggy! Lol

I do not know the penalty either and have not heard of any enforcement. I will have stickers the next time I wheel in MA though. I did read that MA has collected approx $1 million in ohv regs and has approved the use of the funds for OHRV land acquisition so at least the fee should benefit us. I did get stopped In NH last year on a group run. They showed up on atvs in Swanzey and checked everyone's registration. Gave a ticket to one guy for not being registered. Need to either have a plate or OHV pass in NH.

What about Kina's place?

I agree with you, if they are actually using that money for "OHRV" land that's great...........If you own a Snowmobile, Quad, motorbike or any other OHV that weighs under 1,000 pounds.
From what I understand (could totally be wrong) none of that money goes towards our recreation.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm for it in hoping it will lead to better things for us but sincerely doubt it will benefit us in the long run.

Where did you hear about the OHRV funding and what it would be put towards?

Ditto!

LOL!!! I know you will. Man that pulled pork last year was amazing! To die for!

I may stop Friday before heading up to Kina's and pick up a few pigs worth of pulled pork from that BBQ joint!
