my first NC deer. A doe for some meat. Went to TN and passed on several 130 inch bucks waiting on the big one but no luck.

I spent the better part of an hour within 75 yards of a 32" 3-point muley the evening before I got this smaller, younger 3 point. We could not decide if the larger 3-pointer would be OK'd by the ranch owner or not ... I decided to not push it since the last thing I want is to be asked not to return ... the owner is VERY protective of his muleys

yes south carolina deer here in Lowcountry on private property I hunt. No, that is blood from his tongue as I was trying to lift his heavy ass in back of my cruiser and failed miserably. both were hit right behind shoulder...

shoot them :)

Damn, nice. You got some antlers. Nice 2 deer morning. Looks like on face book Eric had a good one too.

Nice deer guys!

Do any of you know how to make deer poppers? Had some at the barn a couple weeks ago and they were fantastic. They made them hot (jalapeno poppers) and non hot. I think I ate about 10 myself. Would be nice if someone brought them to the wintry mix! :hhmm:

Been slacking here lately. Had a great hunt yesterday morning. I've not had the best bow season so far so I was really looking forward to breaking out the rifle. Took a half day yesterday and went out. Got in a little late and had a doe staring me down across the field. She ended up walking off so I just got in the stand and kicked back. About 7:30 this nappy racked buck comes cruising across the field. I was finally able to stop him about 20 yds from the thicket. Fired and he jumped in. Was confident in the shot and since it was cold and early I just sat tight. 45 minutes later a little doe steps out and is looking behind her. I give her a minute and a bigger doe stepped out and turned broadside. Fired and she dropped on the spot....DRT. I thought about waiting a little longer but didn't want to push my time if I had to hunt for that buck. As it turns out he only went 12 yards. So 2 deer in one morning and meet in the freezer. Now I can be a little picky about what I want to shoot. But with 4 more tags left we'll see what happens. Happy hunting all.

Using an A-bolt 270 Win with Hornady SST 130 gr for reference.

If any of y'all grab a buck with antlers that aren't worthy of mounting, let me know, I'm in the market for a set. I've been told that they make great chew toys for pups that like chewing on house molding :hillbilly:

I'm far from done so the next set are yours brother. When shed season rolls around I'll do the same.

When I go pick them up from the processor I'll see if he has any laying around.
