Hello, longtime lurker, but finally have the opportunity to join the LC club. I looking at a 2011 on the East Coast, all is good with it. I received a few pictures in the pre-purchase inspection that I could use some help in interpreting. Would this level of surface corrosion concern anyone? I lack the experience to evaluate it properly, any help would be appreciated. The KDSS valves are free.

For context plans for the truck are mild upgrades, OME suspension, KO2's, rooftop tent for the family. Not rock crawling or really flexing the ability of the LC very often, but offroad for fishing, camping, biking adventures regularly.

Looks like pretty typical surface rust for a Toyota vehicle. The only thing that could be an issue is the state of the bolts holding the skid plates and the KDSS accumulator. You'll definitely want to be gentle removing them and give them some TLC. Make sure you use some anti-seize on the skid bolts. Toyota has newer bolts that are much more corrosion resistant.

I agree, looks like typical Toyota surface rust to me.
For as much as these rigs cost new, I would sure think Toyota could afford to use better materials and rust preventative measure. Especially on the land cruisers considering how ultra capable they are in the snow and ice.
