Read everything I can find on here including the wheel/tire database. With few resources for LX's and all the variables including offset and lift I just wanted to confirm that going from stock 20s to 18 inch wheels with +20 offset and 275/70/18s should only require front mud flap removal. Moving tire toward fender a bit but also a bit narrower tire so I think I'll be able to stay in the wheel well still. Ive hacked the s*** out of our other cars to fit large tires and dont want to hack the Lexus too much. Going to try the Falken Rubitrek. Look almost identical to the Wildpeak AT3 which we have on our other 2 trucks and have loved their performance.

I doubt you'll need to trim or move anything for 275/70/18. I'm on 275/65/18 with +60, and have test fitted 275/65/18 with +35. Neither of those required any trims. I know these tires are 0.5" taller, but I doubt that will affect rubs.

Doubt you will have any issues. Have AT3Ws in 275/60/20 which is almost the same overall size as what your thinking on the wifes LX and no issues at all even with stock offset.

You'll have to do some massaging to the fender liners, both leading edge and trailing edge. On account of the low offset.

A 275/70/18 is 33.2" x 10.8". Dimensionally, because of the offset, the outside tread and sidewall will basically be where my 305/55/20s are, which are 33.2" x 12.3". Difference is I run a 35mm offset, vs your proposed 20mm offset, which puts both outside sidewalls roughly in the same position relative to the wheelwell. I won't get into the math here, but that's going to be the reality.

Good news is that It'll fit though with some massaging. Just lookup my threads on what I did.

I stand corrected!

I thought I read that you were running spacers, or is the 35mm offset your stating here your adjusted offset when taking into account the spacers? Also if our outer edge will be the same, do your tires stay inside the wheel well?

^You got it. It's because of the spacers that I run that my wheels are functionally ~35mm offset.

My tires are just flush, perhaps with sidewall just peaking out. Yours will be just a few mm inset of that, so pretty darn flush also.

My front tires are turned just a tad here, but it's basically flush.

Here's the modification you'll likely need to make to the bracket supporting the step just behind the mudflap.

Modifying Splash Gaurds for 33's

If you can find a wheel that has a higher offset, you can avoid this mod. It's pretty easy though.

Really appreciate the help. I think I'll go to a 35 offset then. We really liked a set that has 20 but want to make sure we can be fullyarticulated off road. A fair amount of options at 35, so the search continues. Glad you chimed in as you and a couple others were the main posters who sold us on the idea of the LX over the LC. For our needs it was clearly the best choice.

Okay how about offset of +30 on a 275/70/18 that is 11 inches wide? Will this fully articulate in the wheel well and only require mud flap removal and possible relocation/trimming of the liner. If not than I guess we'll go for the tundra trd pro wheels. Thinking the xD hoss (XD79589058830) will look really nice on our silver LX.

Yes, should be fine.

It's not really a problem of articulation btw. It's the rubbing at the normal height to the front and back edge of the fender.

I'm able to fully articulate even with my 305s.
