I'm a longtime lurker, but first time poster. I have an 09 tundra visit the tundratalk forum often, I did have an '07 FJ, but my wife hated the suicide back doors with our baby on the way. Long story, intro but I have been wanting a LC for over a year.

I have found a 2011 LC with 7k miles, purchased in January. Private seller. He is asking $54,500 which seems reasonable. I'm hoping to get him down to $52k. What's ur thoughts?

Pros/cons from anyone switching from Tundra to LC.

I have a 16 mo old baby boy and my wife is expecting in May. We travel to a lot of football games, vacations, etc. I put a lot of miles on my vehIcles. About 50k miles per year. My wife has a '10 X5 for cruising around town.

Also, I owe $12k for my tundra, I'm trying to decide whether to just keep it/ pay if off and have a sweet work/ hunting truck etc.

Thanks for the replies....

Sounds like the asking prie is reasonable for that new low mileage rig.

Price sounds great for such a new vehicle. I have three kids and you couldn't ask for a much better family vehicle than a LC. It's very comfortable and the entire thing practically turns into a giant airbag in a crash. It's a little challenging putting all three booster/baby seats in the backseat, but that shouldn't be a problem with your one (almost two) kids.

Congrats, by the way!

Brussum, I am hoping this second is the last, but my wife may differ...

Price does seem right, I was wanting to wait until the 2013 (2012) models, but if I can get 10-15K off the new sticker by buying 1 12 months old from an older guy who has kept it in garage & showroom condition I think I would be crazy.

Here is a pic of my Tundra...

The only thing to really to consider is that you will be downsizing in volume. However in my opinion a 200 series will have more than enough room for a family of 4. You may need to remove a seat or two in the 3rd row for extra luggage space.

I'm a family of 4 with 2 toddlers (1.5 and 2.5) in car seats and everything fits very well in my slightly smaller 100 series, even on extended winter trips. You will need to pack smart with double strollers and pack n play's.

Loose the Graco pack n play, they are heavy and bulky. Pick up a Baby Bjorn travel crib.

Pricey but they don't take up much space, they are super light and set up very fast. Then, your bigger baby might be ready for a Pea Pod, it's a travel sleeping tent. Light, cheap and it rolls up small. Get the bigger size because it'll last for years. Skip the older version with the sleeping bag, the bag is cheap and smells like Chinese manufacturing.

Also, while double SUV strollers are great, they take up a ton of space. A double Bob will consume almost 3/4 of your rear cargo space. Think about some smaller doubles for travel.

Ok, while not really tech, these will save a bunch of room in your cargo area.

If it makes you feel better, I planned to stop at two kids as well. That third one was a surprise baby. Good times nonetheless!

The rear jump seats are nice to have, but mine are folded up nearly 99% of the time. There's not much room in the rear with them folded down in place. I've thought about removing them altogether, but haven't bothered.

If the LC has no problem of any kind, you've found a bargain!

It was too good of a price....

I spoke to the guy late yesterday afternoon and the LC is sold, aysm....

I'm pissed, my banker called me this morning giving me the financing details and had the check ready...oh well, it wasn't meant to be, I guess.

To add insult, I went to lunch today, pulled in the parking lot look over and their is a 2011 LC, white etc....

If anyone is looking to trade in or sell their LC let me know...I'm ready to buy.

Thanks for all the advice...

That's a steal. Here are the details of my purchase this past June:

---------------------

Just struck a deal on a Galactic Gray 2011 LC with 8,000 miles, Dealer Demo (new) with Upgrade pkg.. $64,000 plus tax and tags in NY. Minor scratch on lower rear bumper. I have to drive 2 hours to pick it up. No trade in.

I think this is much better than the 2010 locally with 15,000 miles for $61,500 with a nice scratch across the tailgate. Would need paint.

I had several stealerships quote me $70,500-$71,500 new with upgrade pkg BUT they figures 6 month wait.
