Hi all, I need some help/direction.
I have a 2009 LX570, been well maintained, 93000 miles. Today it will crank with the push button but wont start. It turns over normally and attemps to fire but then doesn't. What am I looking at here?

Put gas in the tank.

Report result.

Not trying to insult your intelligence. :)
Trust me. This happens. One guy here recently spent about a week troubleshooting...and finally figured out his tank was empty.

So it's my wife, so that is not out of the question, the gauge shows fuel, the low fuel light is not on, DTE reads 11 miles...
All reports i have read say there are still several gallons in the tank and should be able to start.

Yep. Try gas. Don’t ask how I know. If gas fails there are a bunch of other things to try after that.

Yup. Add gas-o-line!

Tried gas, Lexus says fuel pump and sender unit failed. $1700 bones. Is this a single unit or could both go bad?

You’re past this point but if it runs on starter fluid then this seems a reasonable diagnosis.

It's one assembly, sorta. See below.
The entire thing runs $400-$420.
The issue is labor as, I believe, the FSM calls for dropping the tank.

Called my local Toyota dealer and they were within the same ball park but they quoted me two part numbers, where Lexus said it’s a single unit. I actually called the sales Manager as he builds some bad a$$ 200 Series for stock. By the time I factored in the extra tow and a rental(Lexus gives us a loaner RX) it’s all a wash. Hopefully it’s been upgraded by now so I don’t have another one fail.

Yeah, pumping GAS fixed my Wife's LX570 issue, Gas gauge showed between Empty and Quarter Tank, LOW fuel light was not ON, oh well, will fill up when it drops below half from now on,

Cheers,

SAL
