Hi all,

Ran into the issue where the map function simply won't operate when the temps are at or near the freezing mark. I get the black "Consult Your Dealer" screen.

Once the truck has warmed up and I turn it off, then restart it, it operates as normal. All other screens work normally through this time. I searched as I think this has been covered before but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

TIA, Tom

Here’s a sort of similar symptom that turned out to be a dead hard drive. I wonder if the hard drive in yours no longer likes cold temps and doesn’t run until warm.

Ha, I knew I'd seen it somewhere before... I'm the second comment in the thread!

I'm considering getting the GROM unit for my truck and decided "while I'm in there" I should replace that glitchy drive, it's frustrating to not have the navigation screen as a reference when I'm driving somewhere. (Wish I could get an update to the wildly out of date maps)

Thanks much!
